SUMMARY

In Microsoft Word for the Macintosh, when you press COMMAND+TILDE (~) to create a nonbreaking hyphen while the On Cue INIT is running under MultiFinder, MultiFinder switches to a different application. On Cue has an option to set an application switch key while running MultiFinder. COMMAND+TILDE, Word’s nonbreaking hyphen, is the default switch key. To use Word’s nonbreaking hyphen, choose one of the following methods:

Method 1 – Change On Cue’s Default Switch Key

  1. Select the On Cue icon (which resembles a rocket) located next to the MultiFinder application icon in the top-right corner of the screen.
  2. From the On Cue menu, choose Preferences.
  3. Click the Set Switch Key button.
  4. Type in a new set of keystrokes, and click the Set button.

Method 2 – Disable On Cue’s Key Switching Option

  1. Select the On Cue icon and choose Preferences.
  2. Clear the Enable KeyBoard Switching check box, and click the OK button.

Method 3 – Change the Key Combination for a Nonbreaking Hyphen (Microsoft Word) ———————————————-

  1. From the Edit menu in Word 4.0 and 3.0 or from the Tools menu in Word 5.0, choose Commands.
  2. Type “i” (without the quotation marks) to scroll down the list of commands, and select Insert Nonbreaking Hyphen.
  3. Under Keys, click the Add button and type the new keystroke to be assigned to the nonbreaking hyphen. Click the Cancel button in Word 4.0 or the Close button in Word 5.0 to exit the dialog box.
