WINDOWS

The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Project for Windows, version 1.0

SUMMARY

When printing to a PostScript printer from Project for Windows with the output scaling set to less than 70%, you may only receive one page of output, and the start and end points of Gantt bars may not print correctly. Also, borders may be truncated.

MORE INFORMATION

Steps to Reproduce Problem

  1. Enter four tasks with 100-day durations
  2. Select task numbers 2, 3, and 4.
  3. With your mouse, click the arrow that points to the right (demote icon) on the right-hand side of the edit bar. Or, press ALT+SHIFT+RIGHT ARROW key.
  4. From the File menu, choose Printer Setup.
  5. Select the PostScript Printer driver and choose Setup.
  6. Change the Scaling percent to 65.
  7. Choose OK twice.

Now, when you print this file, you will only get one page of output and the end shapes of the summary bar will be square rather than half-diamond shaped. Milestones will also appear incorrectly as squares rather than diamonds in the Gantt and in the legend.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft Project listed above. We are researching this problem, and will post more information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
