SUMMARY
When you paste text copied from the OS/2 3270 emulator, the text will be pasted as a bitmap, instead of text, into Word for OS/2.
Workaround
To paste text instead of the bitmap, paste the text into the OS/2 System Editor and highlight and copy that text back into the Clipboard. Performing a paste in Word will now insert the text instead of the bitmap. By pasting and copying the text with the OS/2 System Editor, the bitmap is removed from the Clipboard; as a result, Word has no choice but to paste the text.
MORE INFORMATION
When text is copied from the 3270 emulator, it places both a text and a bitmap version of the selected text. When pasting information into Word from a Clipboard that contains more than one format, Word will choose one particular format before choosing another based on a built-in preference table. Bitmaps are prioritized in Word over text to maintain better functionality with other Presentation Manager applications. ====================================================================== ============================================================================= Copyright Microsoft Corporation 1997.
