SYS2070 Demand Load Error When Starting Word for OS/2

PSS ID Number: Q69799 Article last modified on 03-07-1997

====================================================================== 1.10 OS/2

SUMMARY

When you start Word for OS/2, the following error message may occur:

SYS2070: The system could not demand load the application’s segment. MSWORD is in error. For additional detailed information also see message SYS0031.

The occurrence of this error message indicates that Word is having trouble loading all the necessary code segments to get itself running.

Possible Conditions that Can Cause this Message

  1. Corrupt PMWORD.EXE file
  2. Corrupt .DLL files in the directory in which Word resides
  3. Reading error from hard disk

Solution

If the hard drive is functional, reinstallation of Word should solve the problem.

Note: If Word is reinstalled into a different directory than the directory in which it was originally installed, be sure to edit the LIBPATH statement in the CONFIG.SYS file so that it does NOT include the directory in which Word was previously installed. Rebooting will be necessary for the editing changes to take effect. ====================================================================== ============================================================================= Copyright Microsoft Corporation 1997.
