APPLIES TO
- Microsoft Office Outlook 2007
SYMPTOMS
You view messages from an IMAP profile in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 from two computers. When you do this, you see that the category information for the messages is different on each computer.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because the category information is stored locally on the computer. Category information is not synchronized with the IMAP server.
WORKAROUND
To work around this behavior if you use rules to assign categories to new messages, create the same rules on both computers. When you create the rules on the second computer, click Run Rules Now to assign the categories quickly.
Note You can also set categories manually. To do this, click to select the Quick Click check box. This check box is located next to the flag icon in the To-Do Bar. If you pause the pointer on this check box, you see the following text:
Click to toggle Quick Click category
Right-click for all options
There is no easy workaround for the behavior if you use this method.
