Session Summary
During this presentation, we will discuss the characteristics of user-defined functions (UDFs) introduced in Microsoft SQL Server 2000. This presentation will cover different types of UDFs, rules to define UDFs, as well as differences between UDFs, views, and stored procedures. We will also talk about when to use UDFs rather than views and stored procedures. Finally, we'll explain some quick methods for obtaining information about UDFs in a database.
