SYMPTOMS

When you start Exchange System Manager and expand the Servers container, and then right-click the server object, the Copy option is displayed on the Context menu. However, you cannot paste the server object in the Server Policy container, that is located in the System Policies container.

You are able to copy the mailbox store object and paste it to the Mailbox store policy container that is located in the System Policies container. Also, you can copy a public store object and paste it into the Public store policy container that is located in the System Policies container.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue:

  1. Right-click Server Policy, and then click Add Server.
  2. Click the server you want to add, click Add, and then click OK.
  3. You receive the following message:

Are you sure you want to add the items(s)to this policy?

Click Yes to add the server to the Server Policy container.

NOTE: You may also add the server by dragging the server to the Server Policy container.
