This Support WebCast introduces the daylight saving time changes for calendar year 2007. This session also provides an overview of why the changes are needed. This WebCast specifically focuses on Microsoft Windows 2000. It talks about the registry changes and the time zones that are being updated. This WebCast also tells how to confirm that the updates have been applied, and then provides information about testing and rollback procedure. The WebCast talks about and demonstrates two of three methods, when to use them, and what deployment problems must be considered. It will also demonstrate sample deployment methods such as Group Policy objects (GPO), or by using a Systems Management Server package. Note that Systems Management Server will not be covered in depth.

This is a Level 300 session presented by Jorge Lopez. Jorge Lopez is a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico where he received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Jorge joined Microsoft a little over a year ago as a security program manager in the Windows Serviceability organization. He has also led the release of four time zone updates for the Windows operating system, in addition to the 2007 global time zone update. Before joining Microsoft, he was a Senior IT Manager for Titan Corporation, and a Communications and Information Office in the U.S. Air Force.
