“Paper Stack Error” Printing Legal to TI OmniLaser 2115
PSS ID Number: Q59075 Article last modified on 11-02-1994
A “paper stack error” message can occur when attempting to print documents formatted for legal-sized paper to a Texas Instruments OmniLaser 2115 PostScript printer.
For Word to print legal-sized documents correctly with the TI OmniLaser 2115 printer, use the MAPEPRD utility to make the following modification at byte:0 of the PCSD table of the POSTSCRP.PRD:
Change the line
byte:0 mod:0 “%!PS-ADOBE-2.0 MJPSp”
to read as follows:
byte:0 mod:0 "%!PS-ADOBE-2.0 MJlegaltray MJPSp
Also, make sure that the legal-sized paper tray meets the specifications listed below, and that the paper receptacle is in the “legal-sized paper” position (see below for more information).
The “paper stack error” indicates one of the following two errors with the printer:
- The legal-sized tray inserted into the printer has a metal tab attached causing the printer to recognize it as a letter-sized tray. This tab may be found on the end of the tray that is inserted into the printer. This tab must be removed to allow the printer to properly recognize the legal-sized tray.
- The paper receptacle on top of the printer is not pulled out to the legal-sized paper indicator. The OmniLaser 2115 has an internal sensor that detects which paper size the paper receptacle is set for. The paper receptacle must be pulled out to the legal-sized indicator.
