Mac Daisy Link: Duplicate Characters in Margin PSS ID Number: Q58808 Article last modified on 05-20-1991 PSS database name: M_DaisyLnk

1.1.3MS

MACINTOSH

Summary:

Two extra characters can appear in the margin that duplicate the first characters of the line when using the Mac Daisy Link typewriter driver from GDT.

For example, the following can occur:

Th The cat ran up the hill and … fr from here to there and …

This can occur when you are using a standard font and not the recommended monospace fonts, Langley or Monaco. Langley 6 in 10 pt set for 6-lines-per-inch horizontal spacing works well. 8-lines-per-inch spacing is best obtained with Langley 8 in a 9-point size and a 15 CPI print wheel. Monaco in a 12-point size is appropriate for 10 CPI printing.

For more information, see the “Mac Daisy Link User’s Manual,” pages 24-25.
