If the paragraph mark following a linked document or linked spreadsheet is deleted so that the end-of-file marker (the little diamond) is immediately following the link sequence, and the link is updated, Word may hang the computer.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Word version 5.0. This problem was corrected in Word version 5.5.
