PSS ID Number: Q38487 Article last modified on 06-10-1996

The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Works for the Macintosh, version 2.0

The new features in the Microsoft Works version 2.0 Database module are as follows:

The Database Functions

Many of the built-in calculations (functions) that are used in the Spreadsheet can be pasted directly into computed fields in a database document. Functions can be used only in computed fields. Any function that takes a range as an argument cannot be used.

Changing the Report Window

The report window now has scroll bars, a zoom box, and a size box for scrolling and changing the report window’s size. The right margin in reports can be changed by dragging the right-margin marker.

New Command Names

To make the Database easier to use, the command names in the TotalsPage menu have changed. The changes are as follows:

From To —- –

Total-1st Char Field Take a Sub-Total on 1st Char

Total of Field Change Take a Sub-Total on Field Change

The order of commands in the TotalsPage menu also has changed.

The new Works version 2.0 features listed above can also be found on Page 423, Appendix G, of the “Using Microsoft Works” version 2.0 manual.
