OLEXP: Invalid Error Message When You Send an E-mail Message to Only a Bcc Recipient

SYMPTOMS

When you type the recipient's name in the Bcc field of an e-mail message without typing any recipients in the To field or in the Cc field, you may receive the following error message when you try to send the e-mail message:

Received message is not replicable.
Looking at the Headers you will note the following:
To: <Undisclosed Recipients>

NOTE: The error message does not comply with the Request for Comments (RFC) standards for the To field.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, you must upgrade to Microsoft Outlook Express 5.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

Looking at the Headers you will note the following:
To: <Undisclosed-Recipients:;>

NOTE: If you compose a new message and do not see the Bcc field, click All Headers on the View menu.
