SUMMARY

Windows 2000 includes the APC PowerChute software suite as the default Windows 2000 uninterruptible power supply (UPS) support software.

Previous versions of APC PowerChute do not work with Windows 2000. Upgrading from Microsoft Windows 95, Microsoft Windows 98, or Microsoft Windows NT 3.51 or 4.0 with a previous version of PowerChute installed results in various error messages.

The following steps outline a general upgrade procedure for APC PowerChute. For more information about your particular version of this software, visit the APC Web site.

  1. Remove PowerChute.
  2. Disconnect your UPS communications cable.
  3. Upgrade to Windows 2000.
  4. Connect your UPS communications cable.
  5. For PowerChute Pro: Configure the UPS tab in the Power Options tool in Control Panel.


For PowerChute Plus: Install PowerChute Plus 2.5 for Windows 2000.
