256986 Description of the Microsoft Windows Registry

To set a different system font you must modify the registry to reflect the settings you want.

Warning If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

The system font is set through the following registry key:

        "Nm"="[name of font]"
        "Ht"=dword:[size, specified as an lfHeight]
        "It"=dword:[non zero for italic]
        "Wt"=dword:[weight specified as lfWeight]

There are several fonts used by the system that can be adjusted. Please see the Config.reg file for examples.
