When you open a file that contains a Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications macro, a macro virus alert message fails to appear even though Macro Virus Protection is selected on the General tab in the Options dialog box.

This problem may occur when you open a file that contains Visual Basic macro code in a class module or when you open a file that contains code that is associated with a UserForm.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.

For more information about macro virus protection, click the Index tab in Microsoft Excel Help, type the following text

viruses, macro

and then double-click the selected text to go to the "About viruses and workbook macros" topic.
