SYMPTOMS

When you start Internet Explorer after you install the Pipeline USA sample browser program, its Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) stack, and its dialer program, you may receive the following error message:

Unable to access the network. Please check your tcp/ip settings in the Control Panel.

CAUSE

This error message occurs because the Pipeline USA browser replaces the Windows 95 Wsock32.dll file with its own version of the Wsock32.dll file.

    4. Type the following line at the command prompt, and then press ENTER

      extract /a <drive>:\win95\win95_11.cab wsock32.dll /l c:\<windows>\system

where <drive> is the drive letter assigned to your CD-ROM drive, and where <windows> is the name of the folder in which Windows is installed.

    5. Type exit, and then press ENTER to return to windows.

Extracting Wsock32.dll from the Windows 95 Floppy Disks:

    2. Type cd\, and then press ENTER.
    3. Insert disk 12 of the Windows 95 disks into the floppy disk drive.
    4. Type the following line at the command prompt, and then press ENTER

      extract /a <drive>:\Win95_12.cab wsock32.dll /l c:\<windows>\system

where <drive> is the drive letter assigned to the floppy disk drive the Windows 95 floppy disk is located in, and where <windows> is the name of the folder in which Windows is installed.
