How To Select a Table Column in Word Version 6.0

Article ID: Q105907
Creation Date: 27-OCT-1993
Revision Date: 10-SEP-1996 The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Word for Windows, version 6.0, 6.0a
  • Microsoft Word for the Macintosh, version 6.0

SUMMARY

In Word 6.0, clicking the right mouse button in a table no longer selects a column as it does in previous version of Word. Instead, it brings up the table shortcut menu.

To quickly select a column with the mouse, hold down the ALT key as you click the left mouse button. To select the entire table, hold down the ALT key as you double-click the left mouse button.

Other methods of selecting a column in the table are the same as they are in Word versions 1.x and 2.x.
