TrueType Equivalents of Common ATM Fonts

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Windows versions 3.1, 3.11

When you install Adobe Type Manager (ATM), it adds its own fonts to the Windows environment. If you prefer, you can use Microsoft TrueType fonts in place of a number of the ATM fonts.

The following table lists ATM fonts and their Microsoft TrueType font equivalents:

   ATM Font               TrueType Font

   Helvetica               Arial

   Gil                     Antique olive
                           (Very similar and found in the
                           Hewlett-Packard [HP] Font Set)

   ITC Century             Century Schoolbook
                           (A variation and found in the Microsoft
                           TrueType Font Pack 1)

   Century                 Similar to Century Schoolbook

   Plantin                 Similar to Book Antiqua
                           (Found in the Microsoft TrueType Font Pack 1)

   Garamond                Garamond Antiqua
                           (Found in HP Font Set)

   News Gothic             News Gothic
                           (Found in the new Word Assistant)
