Article ID: Q103137
Creation Date: 18-AUG-1993
Revision Date: 01-DEC-1996 The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Access versions 1.0, 1.1, 2.0, 7.0, 97

SYMPTOMS

Novice: Requires knowledge of the user interface on single-user computers.

Clicking Undo Cut on the Edit menu does not restore the Clipboard to its previous state.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.

MORE INFORMATION

There are many cases in which restoring previous data to the Clipboard does not work (for example, if Clipboard data was imported from another application).

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

  1. Create a new form not based on any table or query.
  2. Add a label containing the text "Hello" (without the quotation marks).
  3. Add another label containing the text "Good-bye" (without the quotation marks).
  4. Select the "Hello" label. On the Edit menu, click Copy. The Clipboard now contains this label.
  5. Select the "Good-bye" label. On the Edit menu, click Cut. The contents of the Clipboard have now been replaced with the "Good-bye" label.
  6. On the Edit menu, click Undo Cut, and then click Paste on the Edit menu.
