[Offer] MS-DOS 5.00.333, 5.00.490, and 6.00.0015

Post by Battler »

Thanks to The Distractor and his source (the same one as for that Windows 3.00.55 Beta) for these Builds:

- MS-DOS 5.00.333 Beta 2;
- MS-DOS 5.00.490;
- MS-DOS 6.00.0015.

He has already uploaded them onto the BA FTP after I converted them to .IMG and repacked them from him after I originally got them from him in mostly Teledisk format.

Here's a rather useless screenshot of 6.00.0015. Did an upgrade install from MS-DOS 5.
Windows Defender for great justice! Bugs are an international trading company. I need to defeat the anti-debugging and obfuscation methods. It wasn't for Intel's absurd ability to load in ie6. Why even waste time with people in an envelope?

Those seem to be very interesting builds of MS-DOS. I'll try them out on Virtual PC and I might post a few screenshots.

Wow, the Distractor is AWESOME! He brings a lot of things to us. He DESERVES being a staff member!
FIX: I can't find them in Beta Operating Systems!

Thanks for letting me know, Battler. :)

I know mrpijey doesn't manage the FTP 24/7, but out of curiosity, how long should it take?

It may take quite a while, since he moved recently and has not yet set all of his machines back up yet. This is also why he has not yet uploaded the other builds yet either.

Well, I can understand that. I don't need these beta builds urgently, but for the rest of the story, I'll give him time to settle in and process the builds, so that some of us may test these builds and (maybe) review them, as I will do so soon. ;)

WinPC, which of the previously uploaded beta builds did you find most interesting?

Wow, an expired version of MS-DOS. But the prompt is still here - so maybe it's working even past expiration date?

Just fix the BIOS date and you're all set. But trust me, I've never seen this before.

You're set to what? That's merely a warning that causes no harm to anyone.

Wheatley, I meant to say that if you want an MS-DOS beta working at full power, you should fix the BIOS date of your VM. That's all.

MS-DOS shouldn't be affected by the time bomb. Back then, there was no internet, and the reason you don't dare pirate is because of those warning texts and fear of being discovered. The people obeyed the law in fear. Time bombs did not occur until Windows XP, when they began losing revenue.

You could ignore the message. It's stupid, as it does not make anyone afraid.

Please check the facts before posting. Timebombs really weren't introduced in time of Whistler dev.
