Windows Vista SP3?
I saw this while browsing another forum. Is it real or fake?

The theme and the button's style tells you something?

The mismatch year and the font of "Eduard" tells you something?

Re: Windows Vista SP3?
You're right. However he could've photoshopped "Eduard" over his real name though. The Luna theme confuses me.tonychau77 wrote:The mismatch year and the font of "Eduard" tells you something?

Re: Windows Vista SP3?
There is no Service Pack 3 for Windows Vista, unfortunately.

Re: Windows Vista SP3?
Note that Microsoft does not make SP's for Windows Vista anymore(because Windows Vista's support lifecycle is at extended phase and Microsoft does make SP's for OS'S ONLY when their support lifecycle is in the mainstream phase normally.)
Therefore , this image is MOSTLY faked.
But however , for some reason , he hasn't converted the Luna theme.

According to me , this photograph has been taken from a Windows XP About Windows page , replaced Windows XP image with Windows Vista image and somehow converted Windows XP -related text into Windows Vista text.tonychau77 wrote:The mismatch year and the font of "Eduard" tells you something?

The user was edited as well, notice the different font, which others tried to point out...

You mean that he photoshopped the Luna theme?classiconthebox wrote:Fake,it has Windows XP theme. It's Windows Vista SP1/SP2 with XP theme and photoshopped with new text. Notice how both number 3 is different from the other characters(different font).

Nope, he meant that it's a photoshoped screenshot of Vista with Luna theme and new build number.x010 wrote:You mean that he photoshopped the Luna theme?classiconthebox wrote:Fake,it has Windows XP theme. Obvious photoshop, I can't even FIND Vista SP3 or even a screenshot!

Re: Windows Vista SP3?
If it was so obvious, why did you need to ask us, and if you couldn't find it on Google first, why wasn't that an "obvious" sign that it didn't exist?
Re: Windows Vista SP3?
Yes, the number 3 was edited. Also, it's just Vista with Luna theme?

But then again there's the fonts... Even if it was a patch purposely mismatched fonts just don't make sense!ilovebetas wrote:He could've downloaded an XP theme and patched his DLL's, you know which ones.Dmaster101 wrote:LOL, Photoshop And Windows Vista Has The Aero Theme Not The XP Theme !!!

He got the font wrong, he thought it was Arial, but it really is Verdana (I got the pic tested just now)

Re: Windows Vista SP3?
I tested "a" and "3" with both and they look very similar. The guy must've got confused between them.AlphaBeta wrote:You also got the font wrong, it's Tahomailovebetas wrote:He got the font wrong, he thought it was Arial, but it really is Verdana (I got the pic tested just now)

Re: Windows Vista SP3?
I want to say that my point of view, 1: this picture is clearly PS, because this version is not present in 2:vista will support Aero, this picture is the theme of the xp theme, is obviously not the establishment of 3: the build does not exist, 4: the images of copyright is in 2007, but in 2006 Vista launched, this is obviously not exist
Re: Windows Vista SP3?
Microsoft has announced that SP2 is the last service pack for Windows Vista. So it is unlikely to have SP3 then.
Re: Windows Vista SP3?
Just out of curiosity. If it has been proven that the screenshot is fake and that there is no third Service Pack for Windows Vista, then why is this topic still open for discussion?

Re: Windows Vista SP3?
I cannot understand how is possible this thread to be updated so often.
End of mainstream support of Vista was on April 10, 2012. And if we google for Vista SP3 we gonna get this 'strange' information here:
For those who cannot understand what is the problem and why Miccrosoft will never go to release a Service Pack 3 for Vista I'll explain.
Longhorn (Pre-reset Vista) was cancelled / restarted by developers because many things (discussed many times), while Vista dreadful debacle was rejected by users. In the past when Windows 7 develop was on the begging users named the Operation System as "Longhorn / Vista: Second Edition".
For those particular updates (showed/mentioned above) because are released after releasing SP2 on Microsoft FTPs are located in subfolder for hotfixes called 'sp3'. Updates in this folder theoretical should be merged in one big *.MSU file if Microsoft wants to produce Platform Update or Service Pack 3.
- Platform Update was produced till now together with Internet Explorer 9.
- But Vista with a global presence of only 4.24%, Service pack 3 is almost certainly wouldn't see the light of day.
Releasing the Service Pack 3 (merging Post-SP2 hotfixes, and testing the file) is not a big deal but documentation and supporting the same for two more years it is. For this reason new Platform Updates are more expected.
