Cannot install Internet Explorer 1/2 in Windows 95

Post by George_528 »

I uninstalled from my VM Internet Explorer 5 in Windows 95 and I am trying install Internet Explorer 1 and Internet Explorer 2 (4.40.516). When I click infinst.exe and click I agree it says error: Installation failed.

Also, I am trying install IE2 floppy version and it says error: A required DLL or function entry point in a required DLL is missing.

How to fix these problems? I am trying something to extract .CAB and installing again, but nothing happens. :(

The fact that you had IE5 installed previously probably causes the said errors... Try on a clean install of 95 instead.

Also, I am trying install IE1 or IE2 after installing Windows 95 (I installed RTM edition) deleting exist IE1 from VM and installing again and error is same.

EDIT: Problem fixed. I found a trick: I extracted *.CAB and run iexplore without problems. :D
