Well , it has only 1 OS.
SO , I don't understand by 'boot to the OS that formatted these volumes'.

Perform a fresh install in VMware 9.x.

As the error says, you need to start the upgrade from within Windows, not from booting off the disk.

I installed it in VMware.
NOTE - The error happened just before the first restart.

I upgraded from Windows itself.
If I had upgraded Windows from booting off the disk , this is not the type of error I would expect.

But I don't understand the reason of running writelog.exe

How can you run a command in "some way" and you are seriously overthinking the whole purpose of running writelog... JUST DO IT
You are such a [censored] ignorant. You overthink anything that is possible to overthink and you are always right... </sarcasm> // copyright AlphaBeta
