Is there any chance that this here is real?

Apparently, the build is from September 1990, well after Windows 3.0 got released. I downloaded it and it is mostly identical to Windows 2.03, except for a few files that were edited yesterday (March 24, 2024), apparently.

So, could this somehow be real or at least based on a real build, or is it another Neptune 5056/Cougar 28?

it's another 5056, don't bother with it. the win2.03 binaries here were last modified yesterday by a person who didn't know what they were doing, later alleging that this was a copy of "2.02".

I'd actually say that 5056 was better made that this "2.13 beta".

Oh well. I thought it was a gem, but the 2.13 version number already looked suspicious. Generally these types of pre-releases are 2.xx.xx, not 2.xx.

I really hope a real Windows 2.x beta surfaces one day.

Fake, because files edited in 1987, but startup says 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990. And something files was edited.

It's fake. The title on archive.org even clearly says it's a concept.
