I finally got Aero working on VMware with build 5355 and 5356. It was way easier than i thought it was gonna be. It's pretty simple:
1: Install 5355 or 5356 as usual.
2: Install WDDM drivers. Could be 11.x, could be 7.x, i personally prefer using VMware Workstation 11 with 11 SVGA 3D.
3: Black screen! Yay! Alright, here's the replacing file part.
4: Download 5378 and xubuntu, can be any version you want, or any linux distro that has a live CD thing.
5: Grab 5378's msvcrt.dll from C:\Windows\System32\msvcrt.dll and the spsys.sys from C:\Windows\System32\drivers.
6: Boot to xubuntu. Can take while.
7: Replace the 5356/5355 msvcrt and spsys files with 5378's.
8: Enjoy!
Here is a picture of 5356 running with Aero:
I am currently trying to get 5308-5342's Aero working too! Once i get it running, i will definetly post a tutorial in the comments.
