On an image of a Windows 10 desktop which is on a box for Windows 10 PRO we can see that there is a purple screen background which has never been present on any version of Windows 10, I would like to know why this wallpaper is present on the box, if there was a sinification or that it would have been planned?

Re: A mysterious Windows 10 wallpaper
To make it look different on the shelf against the home version?
I collect old laptops and mess with old software.

I believe it is to make the desktop image fit in with the branding on the box.ID40 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 11, 2023 11:52 pmOn an image of a Windows 10 desktop which is on a box for Windows 10 PRO we can see that there is a purple screen background which has never been present on any version of Windows 10, I would like to know why this wallpaper is present on the box, if there was a sinification or that it would have been planned?
Nerdiest nerd in the universe.
Emulators and Hypervisors I use
86Box for early versions of Windows, Intel Apple Rhapsody, OS/2 pre-3.0, DOS, etc.
VMware Workstation for later versions of Windows (sometimes early versions), Intel macOS, OS/2 post-3.0, etc.
Mini vMac for System Software pre-7.x
Basilisk II for Mac OS 7.x-8.1
SheepShaver for Mac OS 7.x-9
QEMU for later PPC Mac OS, Windows RT, etc.

Re: A mysterious Windows 10 wallpaper
I'd say it is just promotional made material. During Windows 10 launch back in 2015, Microsoft own website used to feature a darker and foggy version of the Hero Wallpaper that has never made its way into the actual operating System.
Re: A mysterious Windows 10 wallpaper
Interesting. Where did you get this image from?
Re: A mysterious Windows 10 wallpaper
It's the start menu from Windows 9 (Build 9834 for example) that was NT 6.4 the predecessor from NT10 - never released
