How account pruning is pruning?

Post by fjwayhtyms »

Do pruning once a month, or pruning without logging in to account on one month?

Accounts get pruned if no posts are made by that account in a month.

But you appear to have made posts before that date.

Account gets pruned only if they have 0 posts, including those with FTP access.

To my knowledge it happens after a certain amount of time (looks like a month judging by above replies) if you haven't made any posts on the forum.
From what I remember though, the rules said (at least back when I joined) that you're account wouldn't be pruned for inactivity if you have over 25 posts. I don't think that is enforced anymore though, not sure.
Edit: The rules no longer say this.
Account Pruning:
To keep our database free of clutter and to weed out accounts which simply sign up and never get used, we routinely carry out account pruning. Any accounts with 0 posts that have not been logged into recently (within a month) may get deleted at any time with no warning. This includes accounts that have gained FTP access. If your account is pruned then you will also lose your FTP access (if you had it). You will need to create a new account and upload something new to get access again. We cannot restore deleted accounts or restore FTP access to previously pruned accounts.

The 25-post limit for pruning was (and possibly still is) for accounts inactive for over 6 months.

Accounts without a single post or with FTP access can get pruned if they haven't logged on for more than a month, I think.

FTP access is irrelevant to pruning.

If you don't mind me saying so, this whole "pruning" thing is a bit scary. Just my opinion.
let's leak our hard work

I don't have FTP access.
Do your country a favor - put these on Google Drive or something!

I don't know if pruning is even going anywhere at the moment, its post disappeared from the rules board.

I think its just accounts with 0 posts (and with FTP access) that are pruned. If you made a post and be inactive for a month, it (probably) wont be deleted
