Re: Windows Nashville and Cairo
Nashville was cancelled and replaced by Windows 95 OSR2, while Cairo was planned to be implemented as WinFS but this was cancelled in June 2006.

Re: Windows Nashville and Cairo
Actually, it's more likely that Nashville evolved into Memphis, given that both are 4.10, and the codename was then reused for Internet Explorer 4.0.Fanta Shokata wrote:Nashville was cancelled and replaced by Windows 95 OSR2,
Cairo was not just OFS (later WinFS), but an entire OS. We have a build of it (4.00.1175), and we know of the existence of a build from 1992 (I believe ReflectiaX posted the photo of the disc once), but I suspect the whole thing was scrapped during NT 4.0 (Shell Update Release/SUR) development.while Cairo was planned to be implemented as WinFS but this was cancelled in June 2006.

Additionally Athena PIM from Nashville turned into Internet Mail and News, which in turn became Outlook Express after IE4 release.

There's also one other known build -- the 1993 PDC build.Battler wrote:We have a build of it (4.00.1175), and we know of the existence of a build from 1992 (I believe ReflectiaX posted the photo of the disc once)
