Windows Longhorn Build 3683 Explorer XP Style

Post by Mr.Blue2001 »

Came across this today on betawiki, I know it's not that interesting but figure I would share it. This is Windows Codename Longhorn Build 3683 with the Windows XP style explorer enabled. it's simple you just remove the WebView key in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer.
as seen in the images it's a hit or miss but it seems to improve explorer's stability somewhat.

Plan on trying this with the 4x builds too i also tried it on 3718 also seems like some fallback just in case the new explorer doesn't work as expected but it also fixes the classic control panel switch in builds 3713 and 3718 etc.

That should be documented on Betawiki, BAWiki. Pretty interesting find. I was messing around with the registry editor in pre-reset builds and was able to enable all kinds of unusual longhorn stuff.
Legends say if you read this signature, you'll come across good fortune. Lucky you!
