VSI just released another beta of their OpenVMS port to x86_64 (called "EAK" -- Early Adopter's Kit):

https://vmssoftware.com/about/state-of-the-port/ lists quite a few versions of this x86_64 port, starting from V9.0. Would love to get hold of any of these if they're available somewhere.

I would definitely like to try this but I think I read that there were only like 30-50 participants. I don't know if that means corporations or people.
