Well, there is a chance that the drivers will work, but I know for sure you don't need to use extended kernel.

defenitely no. the hd4000 was released years after win2k's end of life (2010). the xp drivers will not work on it.
Re: Windows 2000 Intel HD 4000 DRIVER and other
i've made the usb bootable of windows 2000, but when i choose the boot from usb appear a black screen, if i put the usb in another pc the setup of w2000 start... why in the laptop give me the black screen?
edit. i've installed a bootloader in usb and the setup start,, but when arrive at "setup is starting windows 2000" after 5 sec give me the "INACCESSIBLE__BOOT__DEVICE" error.. before i set IDE in bios.. so why? , obviously sata mode won't work, but with ide give me the same error of sata.. so why? maybe my hdd (HGST) is not compatible with windows 2000?

You're best off using an external optical drive instead of a USB drive for installation to begin with. And no, you shouldn't have any problems with that drive, I'm rocking an Intel 545s SSD and a 2TB WD Black on Windows 2000 without a hitch.Hankuken wrote: ↑Sun Oct 25, 2020 10:47 pmi've made the usb bootable of windows 2000, but when i choose the boot from usb appear a black screen, if i put the usb in another pc the setup of w2000 start... why in the laptop give me the black screen?

Also, for XP drivers you need Extended Core, which I recommend installing together with Extended Kernel

Windows 2000 has always been strange for that. I remember trying to install it on my old laptop using a USB with WinSetupFromUSB and the installation would load to that familiar blue screen only to hang at loading a certain driver (forgot which). The funny part is that I had more success installing Windows 98 on it lol.Hankuken wrote: ↑Tue Oct 27, 2020 12:26 amok thx for the answer! today i finished to build my w2000 desktop pc with extended kernel, (is a non-daily pc with intel core 2 duo 4 gb ram and gtx 660 and w2000 works fine with my usb pendrive) in the notebook tomorrow i'll try with a dvd ! i hope for my wireless card and for intel hd 4000...

Yes, that's exactly what happened to me. It's going to be pretty hard trying to solve it. Unless if you find anything else you might as well just give up:/

You're best off using Socket 775 dated hardware on a desktop PC. I'm running an HP dc7800 with a Q9550 and a GT 630 graphics card as a secondary PC with Win2k and it runs like a champ. PAE also works fine as I can see all of the 8GB of RAM I have in it. Just make sure to backup the system drive frequently as the Extended Kernel + Extended Core setup may screw up the installation if you're installing incompatible software

Re: Windows 2000 Intel HD 4000 DRIVER and other
I've already installed windows 2000 on my secondary desktop (socket 775 and gtx 660 4gb ram) and works very fine. But in my notebook only w2000 give this problem. If i install XP the setup went fine, same for vista 7 8 and 10.
