BSOD on Whistler 2428 when opening firefox 2.0.0.20

So, i installed 2428 in vmware, probably my 500th time, and i would install firefox 2.0.0.20, so i did, and i got a bsod when i tried opening it, i have the classic theme on, here is a pic.

It doesn't load most of the webpages for me, and i just want to know why all of a sudden this happens, it worked before.

Use Windows Classic theme. That's working for me.

Note that's on Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 not on VMware.

Huh i just got the policy error when trying to install opera, so i was able to install opera before and able to use firefox before.. but here i am

So i got it, it is a 7z file so i downloaded 7zip and tried to install 7zip (on 2428) and i just get a bsod.. i also tried different builds.

so is it my pc, vmware or what?

you can just extract the archive with other OS, or use command line 7z.exe.

I already tried other builds, and i said alot already that, i don't think 2428 or any whistler build from 2428 and up should be bsoding on any 7zip and firefox builds i throw at it, even opera doesn't even work.

Well, i cant use it but i tried with 10.10.

so every single program i try to use with it just ends up with a bsod..

Try an older version (e.g. version 9.62)

Try also Opera 8.54 if you cannot install 9.62.

Hmm, Firefox also gave me a bsod on 2428. Try Opera 12.09 with the classic theme enabled, it works for me though. That version of Opera was the last one to be supported on Windows 2000, so well, I think that regardless of virtualization program, if it has worked for me I think that it must work anywhere though.

Give this one a try , i'm using mypal with windows XP. I don't see why mypal couldn't be 2000(-ish) compatible.

2428 is different than RTM version and it is sensitive to embedded manifest.

and Mypal requires XP SP3
