Microsoft Project 1.00 for DOS Unprotect

Post by Lucas Brooks »

I was testing the Microsoft Project 1.00 and the disk was protected. Is there a way to unprotect it? Looks like 86Box and PCem doesn't support the disk and I don't have a KF to write the dump to a real floppy. Any advice?

Regards,

Actually, it's possible to mount it correctly on 86Box (not on PCem however), just convert the kryoflux dump into MFM (but using our hxc dll), then export to 86f using the 86box toolbar via the floppy image mounting.

1. Download this: http://citadel.ringoflightning.net/hxc.rar ;
2. Load the very first RAW file of the disk's Kryoflux dump with this;
3. Export it to the MFM format;
4. Mount the MFM image in 86Box, then export it to 86F (Microsoft programs generally require the disk to be writable, and you need the 86F format for that);
5. Unmount the MFM image and mount the 86F image;
6. Proceed to install and/or use the program.
