Could I Install Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 On Windows 10 x64?

I was wondering this because I was able to install it on Windows 8.1 x64 but just replacing the VMM.sys and renaming the setup files.
I was thinking of doing the same on my main PC running Windows 10 Home x64 just wondering if it would work or not.

Was also wondering if someone could find a fix for this because Virtual PC 2007 works well with Longhorn and Whistler Beta builds.

I doubt that this is even possible.

The WMM.sys you used to replace this was made for Windows 8 by Microsoft as part of the Windows Phone 8.1 SDK. There is no such thing for Windows 10 and the Windows 8 driver is incompatible.

Microsoft has changed certain implementation details during the 98xx builds due to which VPC causes bluescreens on Windows 10

When you have Windows 10 Home 64 Bit and a VPC VM... Install Windows 7 in VMware or VirtualBox, then you can use VPC... I but complex.

I've tried...you cannot. VMWare's way better though, so why would you want to install VPC2007 anyway?

I haven't tested it myself, and I'm not going to take the risk.
And yes, it will not work.

The only alternative I can think of, is VMware Workstation Pro. I recommend that program.

I tested Win10 Home October 2018 x86 and x64. MS VPC 2007 work only on 32-bit version OS after rename setup.exe and next Virtual PC.exe and replace VMM.sys:

The question is "x64" which is 64 Bit... We all know it works on 32 Bit.

We already know this for ages, that is the whole point of this thread - to find out how to. Especially for Windows 10 Home 64 Bit users! They can't run Hyper-v nor VPC.

No idea what that is... BTW IE6 on Windows 10 is nothing new... IE 1.5 works on Windows 10 64 Bit.

Update, I installed Windows 8.1 on one of my extra machines and installed Virtual 2007 SP1 with the vmm.sys tweak.

This will my permanent virtual pc setup for now on I also installed VMware Workstation 15 Pro to run more modern betas like Windows 8 betas for example.
