Whistler references in Longhorn's EULA?

Post by dae52591 »

Discovering the first Longhorn Pre-Reset builds, I've detected a strange thing as Microsoft codename ''Whistler'' reference in the EULA. See the screenshots. Builds from 3683 to 4015 exactly have it, IDK about the next.

What do you think about them? I know that the first Longhorn's codename was "Whistler+1", did Microsoft forget to change it to Longhorn?

Probably a reference to WinXP, which was originally Whistler.

I think it's just because Windows XP was Whistler and since they based it off Windows XP, they didn't bother changing it in the very early development of LH... Still an impressive find tho :O, it takes someone good eyes to find that too

Longhorn was based on pre-release Server 2003 code, which was codename Whistler as well.
