Windows Datacenter Server Limited Edition and more

Post by 1995 »

Guys :). Did you know that there were two first ever 64-bit versions of Windows released. They were Windows Datacenter Server Limited Edition and Windows Advanced Server Limited Edition.Which were :beta: versions of Windows Server 2003.

More information you can find here:https://redmondmag.com/articles/2002/03 ... eased.aspx

Do we have them in FTP?

1. They were, in fact, betas of Whistler server (aka Server 2002) and were based mostly on Windows 2000
2. It was designed to run on IA-64 (Itanium) so it won't run on any emulator now)

Lack of an IA-64 emulator is likely due to how incredibly complex the architecture is. IIRC there were some efforts to bring that to QEMU but I'm not sure how it turned out. For now, having a real Itanium machine is the only way to run Windows on it.

There is an emulator for IA-64 called SKI. It can run IA-64 binaries but not emulate complete system.

You can get this from https://the-eye.eu/public/MSDN/Windows% ... %20Server/. It is also available from MSDN if you have a subscription. No key is included. You will have to find that yourself, assuming one is required. (P.S. For the record, I am not condoning piracy by posting this link. This is just a disc image and not a license or product key.)

Actually, I think it does not need a key. If it does, I think a Windows 2000 Advanced Server or Datacenter Server key will work.

We can't test your theory about the key without having this type of pc.
