Can we share Mac OS X 10.5?
Can we share Mac OS X 10.5?
I found out that this was released around 2007, and it says that you can share it to the BA FTP if 10+ years. Can we actually share it?

From what I know, Leopard was released on October 26, 2007. You'll have to wait another five or six months.

Although I should note that Leopard has been discontinued by Apple since June 23, 2011. So it's just a matter of how mrpijey feels about it.DiskingRound wrote:From what I know, Leopard was released on October 26, 2007. You'll have to wait another five or six months.
Re: Can we share Mac OS X 10.5?
It's not how I feel about it as I am not going to break the guidelines and rules I set up myself. It's May 2017 now. When it's October 26th, 2017 then it's 10 years old and then it can be shared on the public FTP.
However if members have the files they can upload it to the FTP, but it won't be shared until that date.

10.5.8 was released in 2009, and lost support in 2011. 10.5(.0) was released in October 2007, meaning that you can put it up there and it will be released.

Eh, no. If 10.5.0 was released on October 2007 then how does it make it 10 years old? It's May 2017 now, not October 2017 meaning it's 9 years and 7 months old. The first abandonware requirement for BA putting it on the FTP is that it's at least 10 years old.

I misworded that. I should have added "then" to the end of that sentence.mrpijey wrote:Eh, no. If 10.5.0 was released on October 2007 then how does it make it 10 years old? Re: Can we share Mac OS X 10.5?
We won't share it until the end of October.
As for "Marklar" we may have it already, what I need is the build number...

Almost October 26, get ready to upload Mac OS X 10.5 and to share it with the BetaArchive world! I want to install it on a 2006 Pentium 4 PC hacking the image, in other words, hackintosh

I also have a Leopard disc... I think I'll upload later today, but it won't be visible on the FTP until November as it isn't 10.5.0, but rather 10.5.1.
Pseudo-localized builds are awesome!

Haha, Pentium 4 Hackintoshes are quite fun, aren't they? I've messed around with the Tiger Intel Preview build, the one they'd ship on the special Apple Developer Transition System, basically a specialized Pentium 4-based PC in a PowerMac G5 case, the only real Pentium-based Mac, not counting the Pentium add-on boards for the 90s PowerPC Macs. But it's rather a good thing Intel Macs launched with the Core series instead of the P4 series of CPUs.SistemaRayoXP wrote:Almost October 26, get ready to upload Mac OS X 10.5 and to share it with the BetaArchive world!
