Post by LangsamSpieler »

I can install Chicago 56 sucessfully from Windows 3.1 (from DOS it's not work, because the 2 reqiered folders are missing), but after restart, i see this: i can't open a Window. Is Chicago 56 a fake Version?

We have huge and beautiful wiki, so WHY you can't you use it? Please, just please stop making a new thread every time you install something, the thing you installed doest't work and you assume it's a fake version.
Regarding your question, 56 is a well known fake build which is a modified version of 58.

by the way, why when something doesn't work straight out of the box you think it's a fake one? Since, you know, it's beta software and you probably are using VMWARE which isn't the best ever thing to run ancient betas.

Interesting, because on Winworld, they still have this well known fake. Not sure why it hasn't been reported.
Pseudo-localized builds are awesome!

I already have. SomeGuy (WinWorld's library director), is looking into it.

basically if you do fc/b on all the files of 56 they are identical to 58... the only things that change, naturally, is the network icon, the boot screen, and the build number. Other than that I see nothing different from 58s.
