Chicago 58s Mystery

Is it possible, when i installed from Windows 3.1 Chicago 58s in C:\Chicago, then i can't open a Application and i need every time to reboot or is this Chicago a fake Version?

No, Chicago build 58s isn't fake, but I recommend you to install it from MS-DOS. If I remember correctly, Chicago build 58s' CD includes an executable named DOSSETUP, just run it from MS-DOS and install the build from there. You shouldn't have any problems.

I installed it from DOS, sucess.
After reboot i see this: can't read from drive D and i want open a Window, what make? I have to restart.

How did you install it exactly? Did you install MS-DOS, the CD-ROM driver, inserted Chicago build 58s CD, ran DOSSETUP from the D: drive and then you got that error? Try copying the Chicago build 58s installation folder to the C: drive and run DOSSETUP from C:.

This way works, what you write Valerio, i need only wait a little bit to open the Windows.

Well, what I often do is the installing from either a buslogic- or an aha154x-enabled DOS boot disk with appropriate SCSI CD drivers with dossetup.bat from the Chicago 58s CD/ISO, rest is done by itself.
Note: Chicago 58s doesn't support 32-bit protected mode atapi drivers and this forces you to use unstable real mode atapi drivers for DOS but 86box emulates such SCSI adapters fine and, as such, they provide 32-bit cdrom access in 58s.
