Can't install Win95 properly!

A while ago on a different site I got Win95RTM Floppies, I used VPC2004 (XP Home is the host OS). However, when formatting the .vhd it crashed and said it can't format C:\ properly. (It won't format at ALL) In command.com, I tried to access C:\ but it said:

"Failure reading drive C:\
Abort, Retry, or Fail"

What it means:

"We are unable to acess drive C:\
Abort, Retry, or Fail"
Hitting f prompt becomes: "Current drive is no longer vaild>"

What do I do, (I now have VirtualBox as well as VPC2004)

Which bootdisk were you using to format the disk?

Try using this one. Also note that disks larger than 2GB are a no-go for FAT16, so just in case make sure your VHD isn't too big. You could also try creating a new one in case this one got somehow messed up.

I can't control the size, however, will a Win98 bootdisk work with Windows 95?

Win95RTM not Win95A!

RTM or A doesn't make a difference, since both support only FAT16. Windows 95 B and later also support FAT32 and will use it by default if the drive is larger than 2GB.

I used Win95B to install, and it worked.
