"Unreal Developer Levels (8/98)" search

I was surprised to find out that in germany there was some kind of limited release of "Unreal Developer Levels" in august 1998. For about third the price of the full game. It's mentioned on the pc active 09/98.

shot taken by Carbon from the scan. This listed all the titles in sale in those stores.
Anyone around here who might have bought it and got this rare cd?

Is that really it? It seems it's bunch of downloaded levels after all, together with the gw press ones. Thank you for uploading this but is this what was on that Unreal Developer Levels cd really? Or is this from a cover cd?
EDIT: Only DmLocke is from the GW press ones..it seems so not even all three. The rtf comes from when you were supposed to unlock these on the gw press website, I think it gave that message by then.

They are from a magazine cover disk, yes. The rtf implied to me that these were exclusive developer levels. Sorry if I was wrong.

Also: PC Active is not a known german speaking gaming magazine of the 90s. Did you mean PC Action? If so, what issue?

Funnily they blacked out some games that were index in germany, so they couldn't be advertised publicly.

Yes it was mentioned there in PC Action 09/98. But that isn't from magazine cover disk then.
I wonder who bought that CD then and what's on it.

That's where it was originally from. The levels in the original form are here: UnrealGWPressAddons.zip DmVilla2 had to be converted and is avaiable renamed in multiple packs since but those are the origina levels. DmVilla2 was saved with a prerelease version and only worked vanilla on version 200.

The search is still on btw. That CD still wasn't found. Sadly I don't know how much attention of german players I can get for this. It was sold for about one or two months only.

Tried to contact some people but to no avail, some of these town names/adresses might be of help.

It costed only 34.90 back then as opposed to the Unreal full price.

It's most likely the Intel Level Pack that didn't end up shipped with some products instead it was sold for one month in Germany.

So...based on Hallfiry's research, Unreal Developer Levels aka Unreal Levels sometimes = Unreal Level Pack, and there was also a Mega Pac in planning for November 1998 release.

The problem is, it appears all the catalogues he could find did list it as pre order only. So it probably never truly got out on the german market..which is saddening. I'm not sure if this wial shop catalogue also shows it as pre order or not though.

These levels were made acording to some people, and the best bet is the intel oem deal thing.

I tried Nigel Kent long ago because he oversaw its developement but he told me that he absolutely doesn't have that and that it would need to go through Epic, most likely Mark Rein. I didn't contact him about it iirc, but I did contact Jay and he didn't even know about that pack, I assume because he joined Epic around the time it was already finished or so..and then was overseeing the botpack developement.
