How can activate Windows Vista Beta 1?

Post by longhorned »

I have installed Windows Vista Beta 1 build 5112, but on first startup I have a message "Let's activate Windows...", and I can't close it - when I close it, the system logoff's. I tried to run IE and with it run explorer.exe and it works... but the activating message still is open... How can I activate it?

IIRC, you have to use a special AntiWPA build.
We can't provide links here.

Try not to double post

I would set the BIOS date back, then re-install.

I'm sorry for my English, cause I only know it basics. I mean: it(antiwpa build) is still alive? I searched in google and there is no useful results. There is only winlogon.exe for windows longhorn 3683 and up, but only for longhorn. I reinstalled 5112 with it bios date but i have to activate it in 14 days!!! :-(

Unfortunately, you can not activate it in any way. OS is good - fast, with little or no serious errors

How did you get DWM (Aero)? In Vmware Workstation 7.1.4 I cannot get Aero.

Are you install in VMWare or Real Machine? Because i see your aero enabled

and How you manage install Firefox in that build? I tried and always got Side by Side Configuration error. Stragne in older build like 4074 doesnt had that problem.

Set BIOS date to the 20th February 2005 to avoid the activation message.
I like virtualization!
