Windows Internet Explorer 10 PP2 Unlocked for Vista
Windows Internet Explorer 10 PP2 Unlocked for Vista
Windows Internet Explorer 10 Platform Preview 2 (PP2) was locked for Windows 7 and if you try to install on any earlier system you get an error message.
I have successfully unlock IE10 PP2 for Windows Vista SP2.
Now only prerequisites for installing are:
You must have installed Platform Update and Internet Explorer 8 or 9(recommended) for Vista.

Future plans:
Retrieve Platform Preview 3 from Windows 8 DP, and ported back to Windows 7 and Vista.

Well, what have you done to get this working?, only interested .
Re: Windows Internet Explorer 10 PP2 Unlocked for Vista
With Platform Update and SP2 installed Vista is pretty similar to Windows 7 under the hood. So I imagine it didn't take that much work. We'll have to see if Microsoft creates any Windows 7+ dependencies by the time IE10 is ready, because the Platform Preview at this point isn't much different from IE9.

IE is a core component of Windows, platform previews leave that part of being IE alone. I'd be shocked if this could be so easily done with a full replacement version of IE.spunker88 wrote:With Platform Update and SP2 installed Vista is pretty similar to Windows 7 under the hood. It's an MSI installer right? Removing the check for Windows 7 using an MSI table editor like Orca should do the trick. Sadly, we wouldn't be able to get the final version of IE10 to install like this on Windows Vista.
