hello, im new here, btw Anyone have a copy of "Windows Cairo"? i mean really the 1993 "Cairo", not he codename of Windows NT 4.0, im looking that in last 6 years with no hope..

Cairo was actually a collection of technologies and not a real OS.. Plus, no builds of Cairo compiled as an OS, and anyway, if there are some, none of them leaked or seen on the web.

check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Cairo and i have a Microsoft 1993's Confidential document about next operating system named cairo, but microsoft never release that cairo, and make cairo codename for Windows NT4

I think it was just like Longhorn: A lot of nice ideas combined, but Microsoft was not advanced enough to be able to program something like that.

But I wonder why they used Cairo as codename for that project (with as goal "information at your fingertips") and NT 4.0.

There has been one build leaked that was labeled as Cairo, although the version number makes me doubt. A post-RTM build of Microsoft Windows NT 3.50 has been leaked a short time ago -- Microsoft Windows NT 3.50 Build 854.

Yeah, but there were unleaked builds. (i.e. the PDC 1993 build.)

However, someone on this board mentioned that there's a post-RTM 3.50 build, (which I guess would be pretty close to Cairo...,) & there was a build that labeled itself as Cairo although its doubtable whether it's an actual build. Apparently both of these builds were leaked. Frankly, I believe this person.
