Very interesting :)

Have you managed to fix Onboard Realtek Audio sound? And how about .NET 2.0, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0. And is that possible to install Office 2007 / 2010 ?

Never had any problems with audio in longhorn nor did I know of that specific problem. I don't think we'll be messing with other .nets or office as the point of this release isn't "let's see how close we can come to make it a full time OS" but rather a special longhorn feel release.

There have been some stability fixes and bug fixes though.

I assume he means the Realtek HD Audio? Which requires XP SP2 and therefore doesn't work in Longhorn.

He might be putting the Wifi Patch. Sometimes the wireless connection utility included with Longhorn 4074 requires a restart or a long wait to get it fully connected to a wireless hotspot.

You really shouldn't be using 4074 with real hardware anyway. I don't believe 4074 supports more modern WiFi encryption standards - I know WPA2 isn't supported, don't think WPA is either, and WEP is no better than unencrypted these days.

Nearly everybody in the USA used WEP.

used probably, it was acceptable at one time. These days though, no-one should be. Really, WPA2 is the standard, and with good reason.

Hounsell: Whoops, I pressed the D. I meant uses. I hate how the s is right next to the d.

@giantsteen,
Remember I gave you a WiFi client with Longhorn support back in 2009? It has WPA and WPA2 support.

Well, it was for you initially. It has your old nickname in the setup text strings. :P
I will share a custom version for everyone else.

No, I only edited it, because it was OEM branded. It's pretty hard to find it on the Internet now.

SigmaOS team didn't fix HD Audio. It probably can't be done, until somebody writes a proper HD Audio Bus driver for LH4074 using Driver Kit(which leaked years ago, but now nobody have it).

Panda X, btw, have you succeeded in running Aero in VMWare 8? I can't get appropriate drivers work properly (just getting huge freezes).

No, I spent several days through various VM solutions and different versions. Only way I got it working was with VMWare 7.1.4 with Hounsell's 6.5 driver pack.
