they are sidebars from builds...you can get the 5219 one werking on XP, build 5536 wasnt leaked from what i remember..i might be wrong on that though...

You can get all 4 of them working on Server 2003, as that is what I have running at the moment. They should work on XP as well.

These are early builds of the sidebar and I'm not sure how compatible they'll be with gadgets for the RTM sidebar. But otherwise no, the only extra requirement is that you have at least IE7 installed.

while 5219 has no gadgets/tiles to add, just empty sidebar

Windows Vista comes bundled with .NET Framework 3.0, you may need that as well. It's been a while since I've run these old builds of the sidebar, though.

NOTE: You may have to install VaioXP 5219 for the 5219 sidebar to work. Alky is known to not work.

You have to copy the included "Parts" folder into %userprofile%, in my case "C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator", and NOT in %appdata%.

Umm that's not a problem as far as i know. Back in the day this sidebar leaked everyone was replacing the background with a curved one using Resource Hacker...

Not sure if this will work on pre-RTM sidebars but I found this utility that packages HTML files into Sidebar gadgets automatically. http://www.amnestywidgets.com/GeneratorWin.html

Ive been using it on Windows 7 and it works pretty nice.
