Windows "Longhorn" build 3670 (with a build tag of 6.0.3670.Lab06_N.020819-1749) is an unconfirmed Milestone 2[citation needed] build of Windows Longhorn.

History

Four of the currently available screenshots appeared on the internet as early as 2007 [1]. However, the remaining screenshots available are unsourced and their origins are unclear, and one of them, the My Computer window, has been proven fake since it uses a pane design not seen in previous or later builds.

Changes

The following changes are observed compared to unconfirmed beta build 3663 of Windows Longhorn:

My Hardware

My Hardware, as it appears in this build
The same folder in build 3683, for comparison
  • My Hardware has already been introduced. It seems to be a start menu item by default as well.
  • Unlike later builds, the leaked screenshot shows many "Hardware Tasks", but only one hardware task appears in build 3683 (which is "Windows Update").
  • The "See Also" pane seems to work properly under this build, but is broken under later builds.

MSN Explorer

  • MSN Explorer is introduced as a system component in this build. Based on the window design, it is most likely version 6 (seen in later builds as well).

System Properties

  • Unlike the previous build and even later builds, this build calls itself as "Microsoft Windows XP" with the edition being "Standard Server". This is not consistent with the watermark which shows "Windows XP Professional".
  • The version date has been changed from "200X" to 2003.
