Session Summary

In this session, we will discuss how to develop designable .NET components and Windows controls with Visual Studio .NET. These components and controls, written in managed code and built on the common language runtime, provide developers with a great new mix of development ease similar to that of Microsoft Visual Basic. In addition, they deliver the power of lower-level programming that is more commonly associated with ATL or MFC. The rich facilities, especially design-time support provided by Visual Studio .NET, allow components to take advantage of that designer architecture, so that they can look and behave like the components that will ship with Visual Studio .NET.

This is a Level 200 session that was recorded October 12, 2001 and presented by Margaret Kejun Gong. Margaret Kejun Gong has worked in the Developer Support group of Microsoft Product Support Services (PSS) for more than three years. She is a Technical Lead in the Visual Basic support team. Since Visual Studio .NET Beta 1, Margaret has been involved in generating and delivering .NET training materials to Microsoft Support Professionals.
