SYMPTOMS
When you run the Office SR-1 Patch to update Microsoft Office 97, you may get a message informing you that the patch will not update Microsoft Outlook 97.
CAUSE
It is likely that one of the Outlook .dll files updated by the patch has been previously updated by another program and the patch does not recognize the Outlook version.
RESOLUTION
Rename the Outlook .dll files in question, reinstall Outlook 8.0 and then reapply the Office SR-1 Patch.
MORE INFORMATION
The following Outlook .dll files are updated by the Office SR-1 Patch:
Contab32.dll Mso7enu.dll Mso97.dll Outllib.dll Vba332.dll Vbacv10.dll Vbe.dll
Search for and rename each of the files above and then reinstall Outlook from your Office 97 CD. Then rerun the Office SR-1 Patch.
